Kranti tells the story of a father and son, both honest Police officers but having different principles. Awadesh Pratap Singh (Vinod Khanna) Commissioner of Police a man of principle. A.C.P. Abhay Pratap Singh (Bobby Deol), his son who firmly believes that the laws written earlier had to be modified as per current scenario. His motto is "No Fir, No Arrest, No Talk, Faisla On The Spot”
Trouble comes in when Rana Pratap (Kabir BediI) brings unrest and harm to the people. When Rana is being troubled by Abhay he gets him jailed for offenses he has never done. Abhay's imprisonment shatters the family and especially the mother (Rati Agnihotri). The father refuses to help his son but the mother pressurizes for Abhay’s bail.
Now Abhay's only mission is to prove himself innocent & he succeeds in doing so. The commissioner understands the point of view of his son and agrees that the laws have to be modified to suit current scenario. Father and son now believe in the same motto of "No Fir, No Arrest, No Talk, Faisla On The Spot”
