British Deputy Commissioner, Peter Beckett, presides over a vast region in British-ruled India. He lives there with his wife, and a young daughter, Catherine. When fanatics kill the parents of young Catherine she manages to escape and Kisna takes it upon himself to escort her to the safety of the British High Commission in New Delhi, who will arrange for her to board a ship home. A tender attraction develops between the two during the journey. But society’s disapproval -- and Kisna’s fiancée, Laxmi conspire to keep them apart. Also, Raghuraj, an evil prince has become infatuated with Catherine and won’t stop until he marries her forcibly. Kisna now has to battle with foes from all sides to rescue Catherine.
